King Salman continues to show strong resolve in the continued battle against the Houthi rebels. As well as airstrikes and ground action near the border, the King reaffirmed the Kingdom’s position on the naval embargo, which is cutting off the rebel’s supply-chain from Iran.

The KSA led coalition also intensified bombing raids on Yemen’s capital Sanaa this week, destroying what was believed to be one of the largest Houthi weapons caches in the country.

Washington confirmed a top US diplomat had met representatives of Iran-backed rebels to resume the proposed Geneva peace talks, and Daifallah al-Shami, a senior Houthi official delivered a statement to Reuters confirming the rebels will participate: “The group will participate in the Geneva talks and it supports without preconditions the efforts of the United Nations to organize Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue”.
