Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, on Saturday, to discuss a number of pressing issues including Germany’s current energy crisis. Chancellor Scholz said afte the meeting that he wishes the two nations partnership will grow to include hydrogen and renewable energy.
The German Government are in a precarious situation due to their heavy dependence on Russia for gas, and have been has been seeking to diversify its energy supply since Russia invaded Ukraine in February.
