Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been appointed to the role of Prime Minister in King Salman’s latest cabinet reshuffle.
The royal decree reaffirmed the top positions of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Finance Minister Mohammed al-Jadaan, and Investment Minister Khalid al-Falih.
King Salman has further solidified, and made public, his son’s position as de facto ruler of the Kingdom. The SPA did state that King Salman will continue to chair cabinet meetings he attends.
MBS is already in charge of the kingdom’s key portfolios, spanning the economy, defence, oil, and internal security.
