Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz received Britain’s former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair on what is said to be one of his last engagements as envoy for the Middle East quarter.

During the meeting, King Salman and Mr Blair discussed the ongoing Palestinian peace process, according to SPA. The meeting was attended by senior officials including Crown Prince Muqrin.

Blair was appointed Quartet envoy in 2007 at the request of President George W. Bush shortly after stepping down from a decade as British prime minister. He is said to be leaving his role as special envoy and was not present during February’s Quartet meeting at the Munich Security Conference.
