Saudi health minister gives update on coronavirus

The Saudi Royal Family issued an update on the state of the Kingdom's coronavirus crisis with Saudi Health Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah making an announcement

The Saudi Royal Family issued an update on the current state of the Kingdom’s coronavirus crisis today, with Saudi Health Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah making an announcement. The minister revealed that the Kingdom’s increased coronavirus cases were due to more tests being carried out rather than a real increase in cases.

He also added that the Saudi Health system was doing a fantastic job, with the global death rate from COVID-19 being around ten times higher than that of Saudi Arabia.

“The death rate from coronavirus in the Kingdom is low, at 0.7%. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the government has allocated thousands of ICU beds and respirators, of which 96% is still available. Thankfully, with you taking the necessary precautions, we won’t need them,” announced Minister Al-Rabiah via video message on Al-Ekhbariya news.
