King Salman of Saudi Arabia is reported to be struggling with an elevated body temperature and discomfort in his joints. The Royal Court announces that he will undertake additional health evaluations. This marks his second set of medical check-ups within a month, according to official reports.
The examinations are scheduled to occur at a health center within the premises of Al-Salam Palace in the port city of Jeddah. This is according to information conveyed through the country’s official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) from the Royal Court.
The official release details that King Salman is experiencing a high body temperature coupled with joint aches. To diagnose his health state and ensure his continued well-being, his medical team chose to administer these tests.
Currently 88 years old, King Salman took his royal seat in 2015. His son, Mohammed bin Salman, at age 38, was selected as the heir apparent in 2017. He is currently fulfilling the role of the acting monarch.
The King’s health is a subject typically shrouded in discretion, but there has been a slight shift in this practice. The Royal Court shared earlier in April that King Salman was attended to at King Faisal Specialist Hospital for routine health assessments. He was discharged on the same day.
His previous hospital visit dates back to May 2022. He spent slightly over a week at the healthcare facility for a colonoscopy, additional tests, and an adequate recuperation period. This was confirmed by a release from SPA.
Holed lip as the globe’s leading crude oil exporter, Saudi Arabia has consistently worked to dampen conjecture around King Salman’s health over the years.
