Salman has congratulated Donald Trump for his “courageous decision” to carry out a missile strike on Syria, following Assad’s chemical attack on the civilian population.
SPA reported that King Salman held a telephone call with US president Trump last Friday, during which the Syrian conflict was on the agenda.
The KSA called the missile launch by the US Military the right response to “the crimes of this regime to its people in light of the failure of the international community to stop it”.
The kingdom is among a number of fierce opponents of Syrian president Bashar Assad and supports rebels fighting to overthrow the government.
