Saudi Deputy Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman, met with the UN Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, to talk over the latest developments in Yemen on Thursday.

The Yemen conflict is now in its fourth year and pressure is growing to find a non-violent solution to the protracted war.

During the meeting both parties asserted their desire to reach a political solution in Yemen as soon as possible, and to provide relief to the civilians who have been suffering a famine that has cost hundreds of thousands of lives.

UN Envoy Griffiths praised the humanitarian effors being made by Saudi Arabia, while also stressing that the Kingdom must do more to ensure food relief reaches those who are suffering from starvation in the war torn nation.
