A second day of Saudi air strikes have taken place against a still advancing Houthi rebel force backed by the Iranian regime in their efforts to oust the legitimate president Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi.
The morning airstrikes targeted the al-Samaa military base and the al-Istiqlal camp in the west of Sana’a, witnesses on the ground reported no civilian casualties.
The ongoing conflict has increased in severity in recent days prompting the formation of task-force to quell the uprising, after Shia Muslim Houthi fighters seized the port town of Shaqra and continue their advance towards the Yemen capital of Sana’a.
The Sunni muslim Saudi-led military action involved 100 Saudi jets, 30 from the United Arab Emirates, 15 each from Kuwait and Bahrain, 10 from Qatar, and a handful from Jordan, Morocco and Sudan, plus naval help from Pakistan and Egypt, according to a Saudi adviser.
Saudi advisers have also said up-to 150,000 troops could take part in a military action in Yemen to re-establish stability and governmental rule.
