The Saudi Royal Family have issued a decree banning foreign travellers from entering the country for Hajj due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s Hajj is scheduled for the end of July, but will only include around 100 pilgrims, the selected pilgrims will be of comprised of various nationalities but must currently living in the Kingdom. The pilgrimage will be restricted to those below 65 years of age and with no chronic illnesses, in order to protect the vulnerable from potentially contracting the virus. All pilgrims will be tested for the COVID-19 virus before arriving at Mecca.
