King Salman’s brother, Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz has returned home this week, from his temporary residence in London. His return has been welcomed by the King and Crown Prince, whom often speak with the Prince on political and family matters.

Prince Ahmed, who is now King Salman’s last surviving full brother, returned to Riyadh on Tuesday, where he received a warm welcome met at the airport by his Nephew and close ally Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Prince Ahmed served as temporarily as Interior Minister in 2012 after the death of Prince Nayef, after which and he was succeeded by Mohammed bin Nayef, who had been serving as the Deputy Interior Minister under his late father.

It is expected that Prince Ahmed may be appointed a new key role within the government, having long been a reliable member of the Saudi Royal Family and a strong advocate for Saudi international policy and Arab culture.
