Prince Mohammed’s leadership of Operation Decisive Storm is proving greatly effective in the battle against the Houthi rebels.
The 30-year-old Saudi defense minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the sixth son of the Saudi king is in charge of overseeing the offensive in Yemen with the aim of re-establishing stability in the country with the legitimate government.
Now eleven days into Operation Decisive Storm, the campaign has been successful in thwarting the Houthi rebel’s goal of taking over Yemen. Spokesman for the coalition, Brigadier General Ahmed bin Hasan Asiri, said the Houthi weapons depots have been completely “devastated,” and that remaining missiles, in particular mobile missiles, are being “destroyed” along with the facilities they are stored in. A series of devastating air strikes have destroyed the Houthi command, control and communications centres.
