The Saudi Royal family have announced the discovery of major new gold and copper ore deposits situated near the holy city of Medina.
The Saudi Geological Survey discovered the gold ore were within the boundaries of Aba al-Raha, and the Copper across four sites in the Al-Madiq area in the Wadi Al-Faraa region in Medina.
The geological survey unit gave further details on their twitter account “With our discoveries, we open up more prospects for promising investment opportunities to the world,”.
News publication Al Arabiya say the discoveries are expected to attract local and international investors, and make a significant contribution to the Saudi economy. Experts are estimating the sites will bring an investment of $533 million, as well as creating 4,000+ jobs.
