His Royal Highness King Salman has extended his thanks to US President Obama and the leaders of the GCC nations for committing to improving the region’s defences and security at the Camp David summit last week.

During his weekly Cabinet session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Monday, King Salman briefed Cabinet members on his phone call with the US president, which focused on the strong relations between the two great nations.

King Salman was praised extensively by the cabinet for setting up the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works, the Cabinet highlighted the SR1 billion aid allocated for the Yemeni people.

During the Cabinet session ministers also welcomed the convening of the Riyadh Conference on Yemen under the patronage of the GCC states, with hope that the people of Yemen will reach a speedy agreement to ensure their country’s stability, and in the process neutralising the Houthi Rebels.

The Cabinet strongly critised the Houthis for violating the humanitarian truce by committing repeated acts of violence both across the borders of the KSA and inside Yemen.
