King Salman met with the Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday to discuss matters of mutual international interest including the recent crisis in Yemen. The meeting was held at the King’s Palace in Riyadh.

The PM was joined by his Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry.

Saudi Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Crown Prince and Minister for Interior Mohammad bin Nayef Al-Saud and Defence Minister Prince Mohammad bin Salman also met Prime Minister Nawaz and discussed matters of mutual interest.

During the conflict Pakistan remained in a neutral position, holding back from sending military assistance. However during this visit the PM did express his strong ‘solidarity’ with his great ally Saudi Arabia.
