The Saudi Press Agency confirmed King Salman pledged the aid to Yemen, after a U.N. appeal on Friday for $274 million to provide emergency assistance to the millions affected by the ongoing conflict against the Houthi Rebels.
The United Nations launched an appeal last week for the aid to help over 7 million people in Yemen over the next three months. This comes after an intensive round of fighting across many of Yemens regions including coalition led air strikes on Houthi strongholds.
The war has laid waste to large portions of the infrastructure including hospitals, schools, bridges, and power supplies, and has created thousands of refugees as well as leaving hundreds of Yemeni civilian dead.
