Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah gave a promising update on the government’s fight against the Coronavirus today, reporting that Saudi Arabia has one of the lowest coronavirus death rates in the world.

According to the official John Hopkins coronavirus statistics, the number of COVID-19 fatalities represents a global death rate of 6.73 percent. Saudi Arabia has had 302 fatalities out of the total 52,016 confirmed coronavirus cases in, translating to a death rate of 0.58 percent.
Minister Al-Rabiah also gave special praise and thanks to the front-line medical staff and spoke of the Saudi resolve saying that “We’re capable of overcoming any hardships, as the Crown Prince said we have a resolve as majestic and massive as Mount Tuwaiq, we have only done it with the confidence that we have soldiers, like you, who make our health system strong.”
The ongoing health crisis has been taken as a matter of great importance by the Saudi Royal Family whom have pledged $2 billion to the ACT Accelerator initiative launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) to help develop a vaccine for the most recent and contagious strain of coronavirus.
