The Saudi Royal family released a statement in March, warning foreign governments from interfering in sovereign matters of justice and legislation. However, there is currently pressure from foreign powers, with the leader of the British opposition pressuring Prime Minister, David Cameron, to interfere in the matter of Ali Mohammed Baqir al-Nima, a Saudi citizen convicted for breaking allegiance to the King. Mr Baqir al-Nimr, who received a fair trial in accordance with Saudi law, has been sentenced to death by crucifixion. He will be beheaded and quartered, with his head then displayed in public for a reasonable time.

Jeremy Corbyn has called on the British PM to scrap a UK bid to provide services to Saudi prisons, the British Foreign Office responded stating it would look into the case “urgently”.
