26 civilians have been injured in a missile strike by Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Abha airport in the south-west of the kingdom. The strike was reportedly a cruise missile, and comes just two days after an attempted drone strike on the kingdom.
Saudi military Colonel, Turki al-Maliki, said a projectile fired by the Houthis hit Abha International Airport at 02:21 on Wednesday (23:21 GMT on Tuesday).
The Colonel said the Saudi Military will take incisive and drastic action in retaliation to the Houthi strike.
The ongoing Saudi-Yemen war is moving into its fifth year and has devastated much of Yemen and led to a protracted famine.
The Saudi Royals have come under considerable criticism over the humanitarian disaster in Yemen, with the UN applying pressure to find a speedy resolution and allow aid into Yemen for the civilian population.
