US halts training of Saudi military personnel

The US has halted all training of Saudi military forces after a Saudi Air Force second lieutenant went on a shooting shooting rampage at a U.S. Navy base in Florida where he was training. The US made it clear that the training ban would be indefinite until the investigation of the shooting had determined the full motive of the crime. Law enforcement officers who responded to the incident shot and killed the Saudi gunman, who was armed with a handgun at the U.S. Naval Station in Pensacola.

Announcement of the ban came four days after the shooting, with the Pentagon stating it was halting all operational training of Saudi Arabian military personnel in the United States. It is reported that Saudi Royal’s are trying to repair the situation as US military training is essential to the smooth running of their military force whom are still engaged in active combat in Yemen.
