Faisal bin Farhan’s move into politics
In 2017 Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud moved into politics, becoming advisor to the Saudi Embassy in the US, and Advisor at the Office of the Crown Prince. In 2019 Prince Faisal used his German routes and fluent German language skills to become Ambassador to the Republic of Germany, where he replaced Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, who had become embroiled in political conflict. The appointment of Prince Faisal was met with opposition from Khalid bin Farhan al-Saud, who feared he would persecute Saudi dissidents living in Germany, and was too closely allied to Mohammed bin Salman.
